12th July 2013 - Year 10 Students went to Tanjung Aru beach in Kota Kinabalu for a field trip, the students used line transects and quadrats to quantify objectively the zonation down the beach of three different crab species: occipadae (ghost crab), and the large and small dotilla crab. This was done by counting crab burrows. Learning these techniques forms part of the field work requirements for Biology and Geography IGCSE.
